На брусьях я, когда занималась спортивной гимнастикой, не могла с "накладками" прочный хват сделать, поэтому тренировалась в накладках, а выступала без них, правда давно это было, в 1975-1980 годах, тогда другой сложности элементы были.❤🥰 Интересно, что чем сильнее стараешься, тем хуже выходит, так у меня было, по крайней мере.

FYI The actress, Maddy Curley actually performed that vault. This was her acting debut, before which she was an elite gymnast at the University of North Carolina. She was 25 years old when this movie was released.

0:54 absolutely the worst skill on beam. No one ever does it cleanly. Arms are flailing everywhere. I hate this skill. It uglies up every routine.

I feel bad for her that she never got a second chance. The composition of her routines was unique, the choreography she had was pretty, and she had the best twisting form on the team.

the "Onodi' on beam was actually first performed in 1983 Worlds by Olga Mostapanova- she didn't submit it for recognition because she thought it was too easy.

The difference for me was always in their character. One is sweet, kind, generous, fun to watch, emotionally sound. The other, not so much.
